How many pieces?
Did you know that 1000-piece custom puzzles are suitable for ages 12 and over? It’ll keep them busy for a while, that’s for sure! If you wish to make the puzzle a little harder to complete, select a photo with lots of repeated colours or patterns.
How difficult is each puzzle?
There’s no doubt that a 23-piece puzzle will be completed relatively quickly. The more pieces, the more difficult it is to complete the puzzle, right? Well; yes and no. A 500-piece puzzle featuring a difficult photo can be more difficult to complete than a 1000-piece puzzle with a simpler photo. The degree of difficulty really isn’t just dependent on the number of pieces, but also on the chosen image.
How long does it take to complete a 1000-piece puzzle?
How long it will take to complete a 1000-piece puzzle is a little difficult to say. A group of 4 people competing in a competition in 2017 broke a record by completing one in just 1 hour, 29 minutes and 30 seconds!
Puzzle techniques
What is the best way to go about completing a puzzle? Complete the edges first, or sort the pieces by colour? You may think that it would be easier to complete the edges first, but experts say that it’s better to sort by colour first. This allows you to kill two birds with one stone, as you’ll find the edges as you go.
